Browns Jewellers relaunch their website

The Browns Jewellers team decided that they needed to update their online presence to be in line with current best practice and industry trends. |
The new site needed to reflect the brand positioning of a family business, a truly South African business and one that embraces the need to manage their carbon footprint on the environment.
The new site was launched in September 2009 with a complete new look and feel in addition to a strong focus on showcasing the Browns Jewellers product range. The site reflects the 'Browns' experience and their offline branding is translated online. Browns Jewellers view their site as an extension of their stores whereby the user can feel the 'Browns' experience from the comfort of their own home, browse through the various jewellery items and select items for future purchase in store. Users are able to search the site by ring types, jewellery collection and gifts and occasions.
For partners who may need a little guidance when it comes to choosing gifts or for users who want to ensure they get a gift of choice there is a fabulous wish-list facility. The wish-list works a little like a shopping basket where you can add and remove items of jewellery to create a unique list of your favourite jewellery pieces. You can then email the list to your family and friends or you can even ask Browns Jewellers to contact them for you.
The site uses an open source backend which in April 2010 was successfully integrated into a customized software platform. Try the site out for yourself…visit Browns Jewellers.
